The program
For teachers ready to go deeper.
The 300-Hr Advanced Training is a modular continuing-education path for teachers who already hold an RYT-200 certificate. Built as eight focused modules, it allows you to study at the depth (and pace) the work actually requires.
Pillars include advanced anatomy and yoga therapy, refined sequencing and adjustments, deeper philosophy, and a specialty track of your choice — Yin, Restorative, or Prenatal. On completion, you’ll have logged the hours required to register with Yoga Alliance as an RYT-500.
Curriculum
Eight modules of advanced study.
Take them as a complete cohort or stack them at your own pace — each module stands on its own as a Yoga Alliance YACEP credit.
1 · Advanced Anatomy & Yoga Therapy
Functional anatomy at depth — pelvis, spine, fascia, breath. How yoga supports common conditions (low back, shoulder, hips, anxiety) and where the practice ends and a referral begins.
2 · Fascial Yin & Connective Tissue
Barb Leese’s 40-hour Fascial-Yin certification module. Long-held shapes, fascial release, the science of slow tissue, and the meditative architecture of a Yin class.
3 · Specialty Track: Yin / Restorative / Prenatal
Choose one. Each track is taught as a focused certificate within the larger 300-hour. Restorative is led by Jackie Gaulton; Yin builds on Module 2; Prenatal is taught with our senior faculty.
4 · Advanced Philosophy & Subtle Body
Yoga Sutras at depth, the Hatha Yoga Pradipika, and tantric philosophy. Chakras, koshas, and pranic anatomy as living maps of practice and teaching.
5 · Sequencing for Specific Outcomes
Build classes for nervous-system regulation, hip mobility, low-back resilience, sleep, focus, grief. Move beyond “peak pose” logic into outcome-led design.
6 · Refined Adjustments & Hands-On Ethics
Touch as language. Consent, boundaries, and the kind of subtle adjustment work that reads bodies precisely. Where verbal cues outperform hands — and when hands are right.
7 · Teaching Mastery & Mentorship
One-on-one mentorship hours with Barb. Class observations, taped-class review, and the final integration of your teaching voice.
8 · Final Practicum & Capstone
Design and teach a public 4-week series in your specialty. Includes student feedback, faculty review, and graduation as RYT-500.

Common questions
Before you apply.
Do I need to be RYT-200 certified to enroll?
Yes. The 300-hour is a continuing-education program designed for already-certified teachers. If you completed your 200hr with us or another Yoga Alliance school, you’re eligible.
Can I take individual modules without committing to the full cohort?
Absolutely — that’s the design. Each module is a Yoga Alliance YACEP credit on its own. You can stack toward RYT-500 over time, or take only the modules you want.
How does the specialty track work?
Choose Yin, Restorative, or Prenatal. The specialty track is woven through Modules 3 and 7 and culminates in a focused certificate alongside your RYT-500 hours.
How long does it take to complete the full 300?
Roughly 12 months at the cohort pace. Some teachers complete in 18–24 months when stacking modules around busy teaching schedules — that’s perfectly fine.
Do I have to teach a capstone?
Yes — a 4-week public series in your specialty. We’ll support you in finding a host studio (often Yogashala itself), and the cost of the venue is included for graduates of the full cohort.
How do I register with Yoga Alliance as RYT-500?
On completion you’ll receive certificates verifying your 300 advanced hours. Combined with your existing RYT-200, that meets Yoga Alliance’s RYT-500 requirements. We’ll walk you through registration.
